U.S.-printed American and World “History” books teach our children that Black people have done nothing more than picked cotton and marched in streets. As a result, the same historical society that wishes to honor former Klan members and known white terrorists in U.S. History books continually perpetuate the systematic historical and cultural rape of our children. Black History Month in U.S. classrooms, which is virtually a week in substance, is a joke. Many disengaged teachers merely toss out the same two or three names each year from short lesson plans borrowed from the dwindling population of dedicated teachers. If true history was taught in our schools, Black History Month would not be needed. For History never lies, but “historians” do.

Because of the deliberate omissions of our accomplishments and contributions from “our” history books, our children have grown a distaste for history due to that lack of ownership and connection. The perpetrators’ approach is very calculated, and they know the power that comes with knowing history. We want to have faith in man to do what is right, but the Bible warns us against just that. Our history is literally being fraudulently rewritten right under our noses. So, it is essentially our responsibility to teach our children our history—their history. The authors of all books and essays by BI Libraries weave real history, spirituality, and life lessons into the fabric of their literature.
