Welcome to Black Intelligentsia Libraries, where God is forever first. As such, we stress the importance of family, community, and education as being both interrelated and, collectively, second only to God. Family, as a single cohesive unit, is the basic building block of the community. We believe that the proper teachings, or education, that comes from individual families not only strengthens the integrity of the community but increases its diversity of thought. Our existence lies in the premise that the fundamental principles of education begin at home and are the ultimate responsibility of both family and community. If and when this responsibility is fulfilled, communities are perpetually supplied with responsible and involved citizens, role models, and mentors of and for all ages.
The mission of Black Intelligentsia Libraries is to help children discover their genius and purpose in life and to reach their educational and career goals by mentoring them in academic curricula and real-life matters. By working with children, their parents and guardians, and other supportive adults, we not only assist in the achievement of prosperity for our students but we build the relationships to restore prosperity for their “community” support groups. Community is not a group of houses but a group of people who decides to be involved. Black Intelligentsia Libraries rekindles the fading spirit of community.
